How to Deal with the Dust and Lint in Laundry Plants

Many laundry plants may face a troublesome problem: excessive dust and lint, which severely damages the environment in the laundry plants. So how should laundry plants reduce the dust and lint?

There are three major factors that cause the dust and lint in laundry plants.

The Internal and External Environment of the Factory Building

The place where the laundry plant is located has a lot of dust and lint. If the transportation vehicle unloads the linen in the factory building and the workers directly work without changing their original shoes, due to the poor sealing, there will be much dust. In such a condition, we should enhance the internal management and prevent the vehicle from unloading the linen inside the building. Workers should regularly clean the inside environment of the laundry plants before and after every workday to reduce the accumulation of lint and dust. Using a wet mop to mop the floor can increase the humidity, avoid raising dust, and reduce static electricity.

Static Electricity

● When the weather is dry, the floor, walls, and ceiling of the laundry factory have a lot of static electricity, which easily attracts dust and lint, and also affects the overall aesthetic appearance of the laundry factory.

● In addition, if the outer casing of the electrical equipment in the laundry is not correctly connected to the ground wire, static electricity will be generated. It will adhere to a large amount of dust and lint.

Therefore, the laundry should pay attention to regular cleaning in the factory, increase the cleaning frequency, and connect the outer casing of the electrical equipment to the ground wire to reduce the accumulation of dust and lint. This not only maintains environmental hygiene but also does not affect the respiratory health of employees.

● When the laundry plants iron the linen, excessive drying will cause static electricity as well. After the linen has been used for a long time, its short fibers and fluff will fall off. Towels have this phenomenon more obviously. This short fluff will accumulate and form lint. If the lint cannot be cleaned and collected, the lint in the workshop will increase. The water recycling system of the CLM tunnel washer system is equipped with an automatic lint filtering cleaning system, which can effectively avoid fluff and lint sticking onto the linen.

● In terms of the ironing line, the CLM spreading feeder has the flapping linen function and a lint recycle mesh bag at the fan. It can effectively remove the fluff and lint on the surface of the bed sheets and duvet covers and collect them to reduce the accumulation of lint in the factory.

● CLM tumble dryers use vibration and air blowing methods to remove the lint. It also has a high-power lint collector to reduce the lint and fluff in the workshop.

The dust and lint problem should be treated with both treatment and prevention. First, prevention should be done from the source to reduce the generation of dust and lint. Then, regular cleaning should be done to maintain the environmental hygiene of the laundry and avoid secondary pollution of the linen by dust and lint.
