Mastering Stain Classification in Laundry Plants Part 2

In a previous article, we introduced types of stains to you: general stains and special stains. We have further classified general stains and special stains. How can one understand the type of stain by observing its characteristics? This is the premise of correct stain removal.

Appearance

Some stains seem to be stuck to the textiles and have obvious lumps or spots. But the degree of pollution is not deep because they just accumulate on the surface of the linen. These stains are cumulative stains, such as paint, food, sludge, etc. Some stains are formed when absorbed by linen. They are called absorptive stains, such as oils, colored liquids, etc. Many stains have the characteristics of both types mentioned above, such as many food stains.

Color

Many spots and stains retain the color of the original substances. (Chocolate stains.)

Shiny black stains may be tar stains. Dark black ones may be food stains or blood stains. Brownish-yellow spots may be beverage stains or traditional Chinese medicine stains. When identifying stains by color, it is important to note that some pigment stains may change color after a certain period of oxidation and become inconsistent with their original color.

Touch

Old sugar stains have a hard feeling.

Wax stains are brittle.

Paint stains and nail polish stains are hard and not easy to peel off.

Protein stains will turn white after being scraped…

Smell

Some stains have an odor, and the smell becomes more noticeable after being sprayed with a stain removal gun, such as those from perfume, Baijiu (Chinese liquor), beer, fruit juice, sweat…

After making a preliminary judgment on the stain, we can start the stain removal process. In the next article, we will share with you some methods used in the stain removal process.
